CE Webinar  -- Creating a Culture of Evidence-Based Nursing Practice

Please note that this is the first of a three-part webinar series

Overview:
Creating a culture of evidence-based practice in a hospital organization is often easier said than done.  What’s clear, however, is that evidence should be used to define best practices rather than support existing, and perhaps outdated procedures.  Evidence-based practice based on research is more likely to result in desired patient outcomes. It also provides opportunities for nursing care to be more individualized, effective, streamlined, and dynamic, while maximizing the effects of clinical judgment.

In this informative web seminar, participants will learn the importance of creating a culture of evidence-based nursing practice in their organization from renowned Nurse Education Consultant, Lois Marshall, RN, MSN, Ph. D., and Tammy Dotts, Managing Editor of Mosby’s Nursing Consult.

Change the Culture: Adopting Evidence-Based Nursing Practice for Core Improvement.

There’s no question that healthcare as a whole is changing.  Procedures and practices routinely performed over the last decade may no longer be sufficient to move the quality needle.  Furthermore, legislative changes have drastically added increased pressure on caregivers to reduce readmissions and maintain tight reigns on overall costs.  But what does that mean for today’s nursing staff?

With new graduates entering the care setting every day, a “this is the way we do it here” culture can have serious negative consequences on a care organization. In this informative webinar series we will answer the question “why is adopting evidence-based nursing practice important? “  We’ll also discuss strategies on how to keep up to date with current practice and why it’s especially important to disseminate the latest evidence-based clinical knowledge in your institution.
